Canoe and Cabin in Arkansas

Updated: Aug 16, 2020

I was really looking forward to Florida this spring, but that didn't happen. We canceled our flights and stayed home. In hard times and situations, I always like to focus on the good. It gets you through a lot, I promise! Thankfully, we can use our flights at a later time! I kept patient and waited until I felt safe enough to travel somewhere close. Eureka Springs, Arkansas is only a 3 hour drive from KC and it is SO BEAUTIFUL there! I would highly recommend this to anyone. Its very relaxing there and the views are breathtaking!

First stop in town, was the historic downtown Eureka Springs. I absolutely love walking in historic towns looking at the neat architecture from years ago, murals in new cities, going into local little shops and trying new restaurants. We stopped at a close by BBQ place called Rockin' Pig Saloon and it was delicious! I got their Wagyu cheeseburger and their house made chips! oh and cider! I love trying different ciders!

We Stayed in a cute little Cabin at Can-U-Canoe called "Catch of the Day". It had 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2 levels with balcony's, one hot tub and an amazing view overlooking the river. I sat in peace in quiet (well, except for the rooster) and drank a glass of wine. This is wonderful. I could come here more often and I know I will be back!

I honestly can't describe a better way of waking up then the views with a mimosa in hand. Life is good. Today, we canoe! I haven't been canoeing for maybe 20 years so this should be interesting. We went to Spider Creek Resort. I'm not sure where the name came from, but I sure did see a lot of spiders! One thing I would recommend is bringing your own seat for the canoe with a back rest. I didn't have one or think of it, but they would make all the difference! The day was hot and sunny but boy was the water freezing! thankfully, to my surprise, I didn't tip the canoe and my boyfriend and I make a great team! (That part I wasn't surprised about). There wasn't too many people out which made it that much more relaxing and enjoyable. And more room for me to practice this canoeing thing. I actually think next time, I'll try a kayak and see how that goes!

Until next time, Arkansas.
