Since when did you like fashion?

Since when did I start caring about fashion so much, anyways?
I can remember back when I was a little girl always planning my pink and purple outfits.
I would sit on the staircase with the telephone cord wrapped around the wall from the kitchen. How weird is it to think of land lines with cords!? Anyways, I would talk on the phone to my best friend, Natalie and plan our outfits to match the next day. The teachers called us "Two Peas in a Pod" and a few other names!
Clueless came out and I watched that movie over and over. I knew the words by heart and I LOVED their outfits! I definitely got my 7th grade fashion inspiration from Cher.
After I graduated high school and started looking at colleges, I really wanted to go to FIDM (Fashion institute of design and merchandising). But, I looked at out of state tuition and the cost of living in California was not my reality. Becca and I wanted to go together. Becca Jean, that is, and she is my best friend that knows me better than anyone. 20 years of friendship this year! wow! We wanted to start our own clothing company called "Jean Gear" or something silly like that! obviously we never did. We both went on to nursing school and she's a super successful and hard working mama and nurse. I dropped out of nursing school, goofed around for a while, until I got my shit together.
I went back to school for Graphic Design. I chose a private university that would allow my to go nights in small class setting to allow me to work full time during the days. After a lot of hard work and years of college, I earned my 4.0 gpa and bachelors degree however I don't work in graphic design and now have student loan debt. Pretty typical these days!
Point is, I've always loved fashion. I love a naked face most days so you won't find much make up here. I prefer to embrace natural beauty but I love clothes and shoes and pretty jewelry and necklaces! I have a couple of friends that call me "pretty princess"..they are my favorite!
Sincerely,
Amara Jean
